The development of the "Agroexpress" project was one of the central topics of discussion at the meeting of Oleg Belozerov, General Director - Chairman of the Board of JSC "Russian Railways" and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Zhamshid Hodjaev on Saturday, September 3.

According to the official website of the Government of the Russian Federation, in the seven months of 2022, the trade volume between Russia and Uzbekistan increased by 35% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $780 million.

"At the moment JSC "Russian Railways Logistics" and the joint venture RZDL Transservice group specially created for the implementation of the project of fast refrigerated container trains for agricultural products "Agroexpress" are in the negotiation process with representatives of JSC "Uzbekistan Temir Yullari" and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan to expand the geography of shipments, Volga region, the Urals and south-western part of Siberia, as well as mutual deliveries of agricultural products between Uzbekistan and Belarus", - Alevtina Kirillova, Director General of "Eurasian AgroLogistics" Project Directorate.

The parties are also holding talks on consolidation of cargo base in both directions between Russia and Uzbekistan to organize shipment of full container refrigerated trains on circular flights.

The topic of joint agro-logistic projects on wholesale deliveries of fruits and vegetables and other food products was also raised at a meeting between Russian Deputy Prime Minister Viktoria Abramchenko and Zhamshid Khojaev. "Russia is ready to increase exports of sunflower oil, sugar, confectionery, wheat, as well as to assist in the implementation of joint projects," Victoria Abramchenko stressed.

In addition to "Agroexpress" the heads of JSC "Russian Railways" and the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan at the meeting discussed the issue of attracting Russian specialists of the holding to projects of development, construction of railroads of Uzbekistan. Oleg Belozerov said that the holding is interested in the joint implementation of infrastructure railway projects in Uzbekistan: "Russian Railways has all the necessary competence for the feasibility study, design and survey and construction work.
